Geology Ph.D. student Robby Goldman was chosen by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) from a competitive applicant pool to take part in the AGU Voices for Science program. Robby has been very active in the UIUC Science Policy Group and as a result was encouraged to apply. The Voices for Science Program provides geoscientists interested in science communications and outreach the unique training needed to hone their skills. Participants work directly with AGU staff to regularly conduct outreach activities with a variety of audiences in their own communities. They were brought to Washington D.C. for an in-depth training workshop in April and will return for the AGU Fall Meeting in December.
